Getting to and from Hamilton

Hamilton Airport is located 20 minutes south of Hamilton City’s CBD (14kms). 

We suggest planning your way from the airport to the CBD prior to arriving into Hamilton. There are plenty of options! Rental car, taxis, shared car services and bus.

DRIVE
Driving to Hamilton 

Hamilton is within easy driving distance of many North Island cities and towns. The Waikato Expressway, makes the drive from Auckland to Hamilton is an enjoyable 90 minute drive. 

The Thermal Explorer Highway also connects up with the Volcanic Loop – an extension of the route which runs from Taupo to Ruapehu. Working in conjunction with the Pacific Coast Highway, the two touring routes provide the perfect way to take in the best of what the Central North Island has to offer.

VENUE
Claudelands

Once in the CBD, it’s likely you will require time in your schedule to get to Claudelands (the conference venue) from your accommodation. 

Claudelands is located on the corner of Brooklyn Road and Heaphy Terrace, on the eastern side of the Waikato River. The venue is a 10 -15 minute walk from the CBD, pedestrian access is via the Arena Plaza on Heaphy Terrace.

  • Claudelands offers plenty of free parking onsite. 

  • Bicycle racks are also available onsite. 

  • Taxi stands are located on Heaphy Terrace.

  • Bus stops are situated on Brooklyn Road and Heaphy Terrace. For more information on the city's bus service visit the Busit website.
